Alloy Wheel Refurbishment
Alloyman is here to help you get your alloys looking their best
When you purchase a car you expect all your alloys to keep their factory fresh look. However due to no fault of our own sometimes wheels can become damaged and bring the overall look and value of your car down. The wheels on our cars are very much open to the elements and chemicals such as road salts can have a big impact on the condition of your alloys. Because of this wheels can corrode, leaving an unsightly look to our cars as well as having a negative effect on performance. Once an alloy has corroded it will just get worse and worse, until something is done about it. Sometimes the corrosion can get so bad that the seal on the tyre is affected and you may find that your tyre is not holding its pressure and may be slowly losing air — this is quite a common problem with alloys.
Don’t worry, why not call Alloyman and we'll be happy to help. Get your alloys booked in with us and you will see a miraculous visual improvement and we will be sure to get rid of any problems you may have with tyres losing their air pressure or any other problems your alloys may be causing to the performance of your car.
Alloyman is a mobile business so we'll come to you to refurbish your wheels, whether that be at your home or at work — the only things we need to be able to get your alloys looking sparkling again are:
- Access to electricity - a standard three pin plug socket within 50m in order to supply our van with power
- Locking nuts - it's very important that we have your specific type to be able to remove the alloys
Once a suitable time and date has been agreed upon, we will be well on the way to getting your alloys done. Upon arrival we will set up our equipment and go through our following standard procedure:
-
Wheels off & air out
We'll take the wheels off the car and deflate the tyres in order to break the bead, this will allow us to get full access to the damage.
-
Sanded & filed
We will start getting to work using different sanding and filing techniques in order to get your alloys back up to scratch.
-
Primer coat
After all the damage has been repaired, a coat of primer will be sprayed onto the alloy and dried suitably using heat lamps.
-
Choice of colour
The primer will then be covered with a base coat of paint, this will either be back to the factory colour or a colour of your choice — this will be arranged prior to the appointment.
-
Sealed & protected
We will ensure that all the paint has been sealed and protected from the elements. In order to successfully do this a coat of lacquer will cover the alloy, giving it the needed protection and also gleaming new shine.
When the refurbishment process has been completed your tyre will be inflated to a suitable pressure and the alloy wheel will be put back onto your car and torqued appropriately — ensuring that all is safe — and your car is then ready to be driven again, showing off its new looking alloys!
This process will take us approximately 3-4 hours to complete. We take great pride in our work and we offer a friendly convenient service to a very high standard.
Prices range from £40 — £60 depending on the damage and wheel size, this will be agreed prior to the appointment.
